Spring SOL#13

Spring is creeping in
Wind isn't biting
Insects are flying

Sensing warm sun, the
Trees are budding while
Ground flowers are blooming

Puddles dry quicker
Children play longer
Smiles appear brighter

Welcome old friend.

  1. Ah yes, spring is that friend that I enjoy welcoming each year. She is always so fresh and pretty. Revived from her rest and ready to bloom. I love this time of year and your poem reminded me of some of my favorite parts. :)

  2. I love the part about children play longer...I know we have already enjoyed being outside because of the time change and the warmer weather on last Sunday!

  3. i tried writing poems about spring with my young students this week - and then realized they really don' remember how spring felt or looked - they were little kids last year! Your poem is wonderful and reflects the joy of being outside.

    1. Anita, aww, that your kids can't remember spring is too cute. I had not thought about it either. You can talk about the change they are seeing and hearing every day.
Thank you for commenting and sharing with me.

  4. I love how you welcome the old friend of spring in your poem. I like, too, how your friend creeps in and then opens to the fullness of nature and playing and happy children.
