A place I Love SOL#17

I was stumped., couldn't focus on a topic so I searched the suggestion list. A place I Love, easy, piece of cake, I thought. But instead of a place, I thought of the thing that draws me to a place.

It's the trees.
Tall, light blocking trees.
Providing shelter in the rain.

Trees create
A canopy to walk under.
Encouraging one to linger.

Trees invite
Come, read under my branches.
Share a picnic lunch.

Trees paint
The landscape
For all to admire.

  1. I have loved trees for as long as I can remember, and this poem capture why. I love it.

    1. Thank you. I didn't know I could write a poem. The trees in LA are beautiful.

  2. This is a lovely depiction of a walk through the woods...or down the's lovely.

    1. Anita,
Thank you, very nice of you to comment.

  3. I love this! I've been planning a post about trees - I listed it on my Slices on my Mind post as Lifted Up! Isn't it fun how we start to write one thing and then write something else? My favorite phrase- "Encouraging one to linger."

    1. Ramona,
Thank you . I really appreciate your nice comments.. Slicing seems to have a will of its own.
