#A to Z Challenge Letter 4 D Is for Diner
D is for diner, specifically South Street Diner in Boston. Looks can be deceiving. I was there my last day in Boston. My friend, Carol and I sat at the counter, the only available spots. Families were having brunch. I watched the men hurriedly cooking. I listened to the men speaking sharply. We ordered and continued to observe the busyness. I ate Eggs Bendict with lobster. Oh, my! It was the best ever!

Goodness, that DOES sound like a case of "Looks can be deceiving"! Eggs Benedict and lobster sounds more like restaurant fare than what I think of when I hear the word "diner".

Yes, you are right! I've not tasted any breakfast menu item as good as that!
DeleteSounds like a fun place to eat. I like Eggs Benedict, but have never had it with lobster.
ReplyDeleteIt really was the best I'd ever eaten"
DeleteThank you.
'Never judge a book by its cover' comes to mind. Some of the best places are hidden behind unimpressive exteriors. Sounds like you had a great brunch!
ReplyDeleteAppearances can be deceptive. Great food can come out of some unimpressive looking places, at least that's been my experience so far.

Hmmm... I'm doing a day in Boston in a couple of weeks and was wondering where to eat. I think I know now!
ReplyDeleteHappy A to Z!
Oh, that's great. Boston has lots of great food spots. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, too. Hope your trip is super!
DeleteHi Pat - Thanks for visiting my blog. I've always wanted to go to a Diner. We don't have them here in Australia...well not on a regular basis anyway.
ReplyDeleteSometimes tiny places serve the best food.We discovered one of these on our street the week we were leaving.

Sounds like a great place to stop for sustenance, and it looks quite cute on the outside.
